Commissioning of the Mortar Plant in Mumbai

After a long period of hard work and a significant technical commitment from our team, SOTECMA is proud to present one of the most ambitious turnkey projects in the company’s history. This is the Mumbai dry mortar plant, located in the most populous city in India, a project characterized by major technical and logistical challenges and carried out under the exceptional circumstances of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

For several months, international travel restrictions prevented our technical team from traveling to the site. As a result, much of the supervision, coordination and commissioning of the plant had to be carried out remotely from our headquarters in Madrid. Despite these challenges, the project was successfully completed thanks to close collaboration among all parties involved.

SOTECMA supplied the entire dry mortar plant, developing all the mechanical and electrical engineering required for the project, including the design and manufacture of steel structures, process equipment, silos, ducts, conveying systems and auxiliary equipment.

Main Equipment Supplied for the Mumbai Dry Mortar Plant

From the beginning of the project, we provided continuous technical assistance to Proman Infrastructure Services Private Limited for the assembly, installation and commissioning of all supplied equipment. Some of the key equipment included:

  • SL250-5 Multi-Deck Screen and VS-250 Vibrating Distributor

The multi-deck screens manufactured by SOTECMA are widely recognized in the aggregates and minerals processing industry. Their main application is the production of specialty sands for dry mortar, gypsum, lime, clinker, industrial minerals, fertilizers, chemical products, salt and sugar manufacturing. They are particularly suitable for fine and ultra-fine dry screening applications.

For this project, an SL250-5 screen measuring 2,500 x 2,400 mm and featuring five screening decks was supplied.

  • MDM Microdosers for Additives

Chemical additive microdosing systems ensure accurate and consistent dosing in dry mortar manufacturing plants and other industrial processes. These units can operate in both continuous and batch processes and are equipped with independent agitators to guarantee a uniform flow of the material being dosed.

  • Rotary valve for aggregates.
  • Aggregate weighing scale.
  • Cement weighing scale.
  • Additive weighing scale.

The complete execution of the Mumbai dry mortar plant is another example of SOTECMA’s ability to deliver large-scale turnkey projects with a high degree of technical complexity, reinforcing our position as a leading company in the design and supply of industrial plants.

We specialize in the design, manufacturing and engineering of aggregate and bulk solids processing plants.
