Relocation of a Mortar Plant from Spain to Africa

A Moroccan company, a leading manufacturer of precast concrete products and other construction materials, has decided to relocate a dry mortar manufacturing plant from Spain to Africa. Through this strategic investment, the company will strengthen its production capacity and establish itself as one of the leading construction materials manufacturers in its country.

To carry out this plant relocation and expansion project, the company has entrusted SOTECMA with the complete execution of the works.

Equipment and Facilities Included in the Relocation Project

The relocation of a dry mortar plant involves the mobilization of a significant amount of industrial equipment. In addition, the project will increase the plant’s capacity and versatility through the incorporation of new process systems and the complete modernization of the electrical installation.

SOTECMA will be responsible for the dismantling, transportation and reassembly of the existing plant, which includes the following equipment:

  • 6 cement silos.
  • 1 compartmentalized aggregate silo with 4 storage compartments.
  • 2 finished product silos.
  • 2 truck loading hoppers.
  • 2 bucket elevators.
  • Weighing systems.
  • Mixer.
  • Screw conveyors.
  • Telescopic loaders.
  • Structural steel framework.

Plant Upgrade and Expansion

As part of the project, SOTECMA will expand the facility by installing an aggregate classification system consisting of a vibrating screen and a dynamic separator designed to produce different sand grading fractions.

In addition, the electrical installation will be completely modernized through the replacement of control panels, power distribution panels and automation systems. The new PLC-based control system will optimize plant operations and improve the efficiency of the production process.
