In all industrial processes, and therefore in all those developed by SOTECMA, it is necessary to have an electrical control system managed by an automatic control system for the start-up and shutdown of each piece of equipment that forms part of the installation.

As a general rule, all processes designed and supplied by SOTECMA are automated, with the control software developed directly by our own engineers. This avoids the intervention of third parties, which can sometimes affect the correct automatic operation of the equipment.

In dosing and weighing processes, automation is essential to achieve reliable results and ensure consistent process quality.

In large installations, such as dry mortar plants, concrete plants and mineral processing plants, automation is based on industrial PLCs from leading international manufacturers such as Schneider or Siemens. Operator interaction is carried out through a dual-screen computer with a SCADA system or similar.

For simpler installations, or where equipment must operate in environments with high levels of dust or elevated ambient temperatures, operator interaction is carried out by means of industrial touchscreen panels.

SOTECMA has an electrical engineering department that, in addition to carrying out the electrical installation of our own plants, is also capable of providing services for industrial processes developed by third parties.

More specifically, this department carries out the following activities:

• Low-voltage electrical engineering: preparation of engineering projects, site supervision, electrical drawings using design software (EPLAN), and engineering studies for field installation layouts.
• PLC and SCADA programming: we work with the leading brands on the market, providing our customers with significant advantages when sourcing spare parts or implementing future software modifications.
• Low-voltage field installations: installation of power and control cabling, including both overhead and underground cable routing systems.
• Low-voltage control and power distribution panels: design and manufacture of electrical panels housing all the electrical equipment required for the control and protection of motor supply lines and other plant equipment.
• Electrical maintenance: maintenance of industrial installations in general, with particular expertise in construction materials manufacturing plants, mineral processing plants and waste treatment plants.
• Plant operator training: thanks to the extensive experience of our engineers, in many cases exceeding 25 years in the automation and electrification of industrial installations, we are able to provide training for plant operators, particularly for concrete plants, soil-cement plants, dry mortar plants and mineral processing plants.
