Mixers
Industrial Mortar and Soil-Cement Mixers
SOTECMA designs, manufactures and commissions high-performance mixing equipment for aggregate, dry mortar, soil-cement and concrete plants.
Our solutions are specifically developed for:
- Dry mortar production using batch mixing.
- Soil-cement production using continuous mixing.
Types of Mixers: Batch and Continuous
To meet the full range of industrial production requirements, SOTECMA offers two main types of mixers, each designed for a specific production process.
Batch Mixers
These mixers are the ideal solution for the production of dry mortar and other products requiring accurate and complex formulations.
- Operation: they operate in batches, allowing precise weighing and dosing of every ingredient before the mixing cycle begins.
- Advantages: they provide excellent mixing homogeneity (up to 1:100,000) with short mixing times.
- Applications: dry-mix adhesive mortars, technical mortars, gypsum products and other high-quality premixed materials.
- Equipment: fitted with lower buffer hoppers that allow bagging or bulk truck loading without interrupting production.
Continuous Mixers
Designed for industrial processes requiring high production rates with uninterrupted operation.
- Operation: materials continuously enter and leave the mixer, maintaining a constant production flow.
- Advantages: high production capacity and low relative energy consumption.
- Applications: soil-cement production, cement-treated soil, road base materials, high-capacity concrete plants and the treatment of inert materials or mining waste.
Drawing on decades of experience, SOTECMA has developed industrial mixers designed to meet the specific production requirements of each of these industries.
What Is an Industrial Mortar Mixer?
An industrial mixer is a machine designed to produce a homogeneous blend of solid raw materials, such as aggregates, cement, lime and gypsum, together with chemical additives or liquids.
Unlike conventional concrete mixers used on construction sites, our equipment is designed for intensive, continuous operation in manufacturing plants, ensuring excellent batch repeatability, consistent product quality and outstanding wear resistance.
Depending on the application and the material to be produced—dry mortar, soil-cement, cement-treated soil or concrete—SOTECMA provides the most suitable technological solution for every production process.
Mixing Plant Operating Process
The mixer is part of a complete production system carefully engineered by SOTECMA. The production process consists of the following stages:
1. Aggregate Reception and Preparation
The process begins with the reception of wet aggregates, which are subsequently dried and screened to obtain the different particle sizes required for each formulation (fine, medium and coarse sands).
2. Storage in Silos
The classified aggregates, together with binders such as cement, lime or gypsum and mineral fillers such as calcium carbonate, are stored in sealed silos that protect the raw materials from ambient moisture.
3. Conveying and Dosing
The materials are extracted from the silos by screw conveyors and transferred to the weighing system.
- Precision dosing: the weighing hopper, positioned above the mixer, sequentially weighs each component of the formulation with high accuracy.
- Additive dosing: minor additives, whether powders or liquids, are dosed independently to ensure their uniform distribution throughout the mixture.
4. Mixing Cycle
Once weighed, all components are fed into the mixer by gravity.
- In batch mixing systems, the discharge gate remains closed during the programmed mixing time, ensuring complete homogenisation before discharge.
- After the mixing cycle is completed, the finished product is discharged into a buffer hopper, from where it is conveyed to the bagging machine or bulk loading system, allowing the mixer to immediately start a new production cycle.

Batch Mixers
Batch mixing is the preferred solution for dry mortar production, ensuring excellent mixing homogeneity and precise control of the dosing process for every production batch.
