Plant Dismantling, Transportation and Reassembly
Each stage of the relocation process is equally important and must be carried out by experienced specialists. At SOTECMA, every project is executed in accordance with strict technical standards, occupational health and safety regulations, environmental protection requirements and cost-efficiency principles, ensuring a fast, safe and reliable transition to the new production site.
Dismantling Phase
The dismantling phase is one of the most critical stages in the relocation of an industrial plant, as careful planning and proper execution directly influence the success of the subsequent transportation and reassembly phases, particularly when dealing with welded structures or equipment that is not assembled using bolted connections.
Worker safety is the highest priority throughout the entire process. For this reason, SOTECMA prepares specific safety and risk prevention plans for every project, identifying potential hazards and establishing the appropriate procedures, personal protective equipment and lifting resources required to ensure safe working conditions.
From a technical perspective, dismantling requires detailed planning of the sequence in which equipment, supporting structures and auxiliary components are removed. For large or complex installations, a dedicated dismantling project is prepared, defining all operations, resources and procedures necessary to carry out the work in an organised, efficient and safe manner.
Proper identification and documentation of every component during this phase is essential to facilitate transportation and reassembly. Accurate marking of parts, labelling of electrical wiring, preservation of reusable components and careful handling of structures significantly reduce installation time and minimise the risk of problems during commissioning.
Dismantling operations are also carried out in accordance with environmental protection and sustainability principles. Surplus materials, industrial waste, aggregates, cement, lime, concrete, steel sections, cables and other non-reusable components are sorted and managed in compliance with current environmental regulations, with priority given to recycling and material recovery whenever possible.

Once the dismantling phase has been completed, all equipment, structures and components are transported to the new plant location. Careful planning of loading, transportation and unloading operations is essential to ensure the integrity of the equipment and the safety of personnel throughout the entire process.
Proper loading, securing and fastening of equipment on transport vehicles is critical to prevent damage during transit. Lifting equipment, mainly cranes, together with appropriate lifting accessories and securing systems, are used in full compliance with current transport and safety regulations.
The type of transport required depends on the dimensions, weight and characteristics of the dismantled equipment. In some cases, special transport permits and vehicles are necessary, and these requirements are directly influenced by the dismantling strategy adopted during the previous phase.
Reassembly Phase
The reassembly phase consists of rebuilding the plant at its new location, either reproducing the original configuration or incorporating modifications to adapt the facility to new production processes, raw materials, manufacturing capacities or technological improvements.
As with the dismantling phase, all work is carried out under a dedicated safety plan and, for larger projects, according to a detailed execution plan covering technical procedures, assembly methodology and occupational health and safety measures.
The speed and efficiency of the reassembly process depend largely on the quality of the dismantling work. Proper identification of components, systematic dismantling of structures, preservation of electrical wiring and reusable parts, together with accurate technical documentation, significantly reduce installation time and facilitate a safe, efficient and reliable commissioning of the plant.

Plant Upgrades and Modernisation
The relocation project also provided an opportunity to modernise the facility and increase its production flexibility. The main improvements included the installation of an aggregate classification system consisting of a vibrating screen and a dynamic air classifier, together with the complete renewal of the electrical installation and control systems.
