UTE La Paloma

SOTECMA supplies an air filter for UTE La Paloma: advanced dust collection efficiency for waste treatment plants.

SOTECMA has carried out the supply and installation of a high-capacity air filtration system for UTE La Paloma, intended for a waste screening operation within a waste treatment facility. This project reinforces SOTECMA's position as a specialized provider of dust control solutions for industrial processing plants, particularly in demanding environments such as waste management, recycling and recovery sectors.

The installation addresses a key customer requirement: reducing particle emissions, improving operational safety and optimizing screening efficiency through a robust, reliable and easy-to-maintain dust collection system.

An Industrial Filter Designed for High Dust Collection Volumes

The system supplied by SOTECMA incorporates an antistatic polyester bag filter specifically configured to handle dust generated during waste screening processes. Its main features include:

  • 192 antistatic polyester filter bags.
  • Filter bag length: 3,500 mm.
  • Total filtration area: 270 m².
  • Main suction duct measuring 10 meters in length and Ø660 mm, designed to ensure uniform and stable dust collection throughout the screening line.

The use of antistatic polyester bags minimizes the accumulation of electrical charges, commonly generated in waste treatment processes, ensuring safer and longer-lasting operation in environments with high abrasion and variable particle sizes.

Pre-Concentration System and Improved Efficiency Through a Pre-Cyclone

Before reaching the main filter, the generated dust passes through a pre-concentration cyclone. This component performs an initial separation of heavier particles, allowing the system to:

  • Reduce the dust load reaching the filter.
  • Increase the service life of the filter bags.
  • Improve overall system efficiency.
  • Minimize maintenance costs and downtime.

This type of combined configuration (cyclone + bag filter) is common in waste treatment plants, where the quantity and nature of the dust require preliminary separation stages to ensure optimum performance.

Optimized Dust Management Through a Removable Hopper and Assisted Discharge System

One of the distinctive features of this installation is the lower hopper designed to facilitate the collection and discharge of captured material. This hopper is designed to be handled by forklift and incorporates a lever-operated system that allows the collected product to be tipped quickly and safely.

Assembly and disassembly are carried out using pneumatic cylinders, allowing the hopper to be attached to and detached from the filter without the need for additional tools or complex handling operations. This feature significantly reduces the time required for maintenance and emptying operations.

In addition, the installation includes a quick-coupling trolley designed to transport the collected dust to a movable container, optimizing waste management and facilitating periodic disposal.

An Effective Solution for Dust Control in the Waste Management Sector

The filter supplied to UTE La Paloma is an example of how SOTECMA adapts its solutions to the real needs of each facility. In an environment as demanding as a waste treatment plant, having a powerful and reliable dust collection system is essential for:

  • Reducing emissions and complying with environmental regulations.
  • Protecting machinery against premature wear.
  • Improving air quality in working areas.
  • Increasing screening process efficiency.
  • Reducing corrective maintenance interventions.

The combination of a large filtration area, a pre-concentration cyclone, an assisted discharge hopper and an optimized collection duct makes this system a comprehensive solution for dust management in municipal solid waste treatment lines.
